Troy Hosts Samford to Close Home Stretch

TROY, Alabama – Troy will welcome in-state foe Samford to Riddle-Pace Field for a midweek matchup Tuesday night at 6.

The Trojans (13-7) have played 11 of their last 13 games in friendly confines and will close that streak with "Two for One Tuesday" – fans can purchase two general admission tickets for the price of one.

Coming off a Sun Belt series loss to Little Rock, Troy is aiming for more offensive production against Samford (10-11) as it scored just four runs over the weekend. Joey Denison – ranked 15^th nationally with 27 RBIs – will lead the charge at the plate for the Trojans.

Troy and Samford met back on March 6 in Birmingham, a game where the Trojans scored two unearned runs in the top of the ninth to win, 5-4.

Freshman righty Levi Thomas (0-0, 0.00) will make his first career start on Tuesday. He's made one appearance this season – one inning of one-hit scoreless work with two strikeouts against Gardner-Webb.
