Troy Puts Winning Streak on Line

GAME NOTES

TROY, Alabama – Troy puts its four-game winning streak on the line when it welcomes Arkansas State on Thursday for a 5 p.m. tip in Trojan Arena.

The Trojans (11-10, 6-4 Sun Belt) defeated rival South Alabama on Saturday behind a clutch performance by sophomore Kayla Robinson. The Clyo, Ga., native became the first Trojan to each Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors two week in a row after dropping a career-high 28 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Robinson single handedly outscored the Jaguars 17-15 in the fourth quarter. Troy continues to pace the league in scoring averaging 81.9 points per game.

Arkansas State (12-10, 7-4) is vastly improved after finishing last season 7-25. The Red Wolves have won three of their last four games including a road victory over Coastal Carolina, the only team to defeat Troy at home this season. Junior guard Akasha Westbrook leads the Sun Belt averaging 2.3 steal per game. ASU is fourth the league with 65.7 points per contest while allowing 69.9 per game.

Lauren Bradshaw leads the league in free throw percentage at 89.6% (43-48), while senior Lauren Bradshaw became the school's all-time leader in career blocks on December 14 against Belmont. Arkansas State has scored 20 or more points off its opponents six times this season, with each occurrence resulting in a victory. A-State has scored 30 or more points in the paint 10 times this season and has won nine of those contests.

NOTEWORTHY
• The last time Troy and Arkansas State met won on March 9, 2017 in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Troy recorded 86 rebounds, second-most in NCAA single-game history.

• On Monday, Kayla Robinson was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week becoming the first Trojan to ever win the award in consecutive weeks.

• On Saturday against South Alabama, Troy posted a +19 rebounding margin (57-38). It is the seventh time this season the Trojans have out-rebounded an opponent by 15 or more.
