Troy Prepares For Arkansas State Thursday At Home

TROY, Alabama. – As the Sun Belt slate passes the halfway point, Troy will have the opportunity to put a winning streak together starting with a matchup against Arkansas State on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in Trojan Arena.
In the last outing on Saturday, Troy (10-13, 4-6) saw five players score in double-digits as the Trojans rolled to an 80-63 victory over South Alabama to complete just the second ever sweep of the Jaguars and first since the 2008-09 season.
Wesley Person, after breaking the all-time Troy scoring record a week prior, scored 18 in his return home while Kevin Baker came off the bench to earn his first double-double as a Trojan with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Person is now just 85 points shy of becoming the first player in school history with 2,000 career points.
The Trojans are in a near identical position from last season as Troy has sat at 4-6 in the conference after a matchup with South Alabama both years. Troy ended the season 8-2 with a Sun Belt Championship and March Madness berth after last year's start.
Arkansas State (9-15, 4-7) comes to town a half game behind Troy in the standings under first year coach Mike Balado. The Redwolves started conference play 1-5 but have since rallied to go 3-2 in the past five games capped off with a 91-89 home victory over Georgia Southern the last time out.
