GAME NOTES
TROY, Alabama – Troy women's basketball wraps up the 2017-18 regular season with a two-game road swing starting with a 4 p.m. (CT) matchup at Georgia State on Thursday.
Currently fourth, the Trojans could finish as high as third with a pair of wins combined with a UT Arlington loss. The top four teams in the league receive a first round bye in next week's Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
After getting off to a sluggish 2-4 start in conference play, Troy (16-11, 11-5 Sun Belt) has found its footing winning nine of its last 10 games. A balanced scoring attack has been key for the Trojans as at least four players have reached double figures in each of the last three games. Senior Chelsey Gibson and freshman Jasmine Sanders have stepped up down the stretch and are each averaging over 12 points per game over the last three contests.
Georgia State (7-20, 3-13) is looking to avoid a bottom-two finish but have dropped seven of its last nine. Kierra Henry continues to produce for the Panthers averaging 13.4 points per game, 11th in the league, while sophomore Madison Newby ranks fifth with 3.8 assists per game.
