TROY, Alabama – Troy baseball will hit the road for the first time in 2018 to face off with in-state foe No. 26 Auburn Wednesday afternoon at Plainsman Park; first pitch is set for 4 p.m.
Troy (4-0) is coming fresh off a four-game sweep of UT Martin to kick off the season. The Trojans displayed explosive power at the plate in the series, ripping a national-best 10 home runs.
Sun Belt Player of the Week Matt Sanders led the Trojan bats, hitting at a .500 clip (8-for-16) with three homers, eight runs scored and six runs driven in. Sanders leads the country in home runs and runs scored, while ranking in the top 8 in runs per game (2.00), total bases (17) and hits.
