Troy Women’s Hoops Travels to Coastal Carolina

GAME NOTES
TROY, Alabama – Troy takes its six-game winning streak on the road to face Coastal Carolina on Thursday at 4 p.m. (CT).
The Trojans (13-10, 8-4 Sun Belt) knocked off Little Rock on Saturday, a team that entered the game 12-0 in league play. Kayla Robinson scored a game-high 18 points en route to being name Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the third straight week. Amber Rivers leads the team averaging 14.3 points per game and has scored in double figures in 19 of 23 games this season.
Coastal Carolina (12-12, 6-7) is the only team to beat Troy in Trojan Arena this season winning the previous meeting, 97-92, on Jan. 20. Jas Adams led all scorers with 23 points in the game. She followed that performance with 29 points in an overtime victory over Appalachian State on Saturday.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team won its second overtime game of the season at the HTC Center on Saturday, defeating Appalachian State 73-68.
Coastal Carolina led for over 40 minutes of game time, but App State forced overtime on LaPresha Stanley's game-tying shot with 2.8 seconds remaining in regulation. The lead changed hands five times during the overtime period before the Chants scored seven unanswered points to close out the game.
The victory snaps a four-game losing streak for Coastal and keeps the Chants in eighth place in the Sun Belt, one spot ahead of ninth-place App State. Coastal is also now 2-0 in overtime games this season. The Chants previously defeated Fort Wayne in overtime at the HTC Center on Dec. 4.
Jas Adams the game scoring 29 points, tying her career high. Her efforts bring her career total to 1,052 points, moving her into 12th place among Coastal's all-time leading scorers.
NOTEWORTHY
• On Monday, Troy sophomore Kayla Robinson was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the third consecutive week becoming the first player in league history to accomplish the feat.
• Both of the previous meetings between Troy and Coastal Carolina have occurred in Trojan Arena. Thursday marks the first trip for the Trojans to the HTC Center.
• Troy tied its season-low with just 11 turnovers on Saturday against Little Rock. The Trojans also limited their turnover total to 11 at Tennessee on Dec. 6.
