MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Riding a three-game winning streak, Troy will head to the beach looking to keep the momentum going with a showdown against Coastal Carolina on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (CT) in The HTC Center.
It's been a perfect February for the Trojans (12-13, 6-6) after an 82-64 win against Little Rock on Saturday got Troy to an even conference record and back to within just one game of .500 on the year. The past three wins against Little Rock, Arkansas State and South Alabama have been in both dominating fashion with two wins by 15 or more and resilience with a comeback win in overtime against Arkansas State.
Troy's winning ways can be credited in some fashion to the recent lineup changes. B.J. Miller has started the past four games at point guard while Javan Johnson has recorded his first four career starts at the three. Johnson has scored in double-digits in three of the four games while Miller has 41 points and 16 assists.
The Trojans will need to win four of the final six regular season games to guarantee a second-consecutive season with a winning record before postseason play. Troy will face three of the four top seeds in the conference with games remaining against UL Lafayette, Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
Since beating Troy, Coastal Carolina (11-15, 5-8) rallied off three-straight wins before dropping the past two on the road against Texas State and UT Arlington. The Chanticleers are 3-3 at home so far this season in conference play.
