Glover Named College Sports Madness Sun Belt Player of the Week

TROY. Ala.- After a career-performance in the circle on Friday night, junior pitcher Peyton Glover has been announced College Sports Madness Player of the Week for the Sun Belt Conference as Troy went 3-0 on the opening weekend.

College Sports Madness identifies the players who have made the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis each week.
Â
The Grayson, Ga., native threw a complete game shutout against Alabama State, tossing a career-high 14 strikeouts and only allowing one hit in Troy's 7-0 victory. Her previous career-high was five strikeouts that she set in 2016 against ULM.

Glover followed that performance up with the start again on Saturday against Valparaiso, spending 6.0 innings in the circle, striking out four batters and only walking one. Through two appearances, Glover ranks second in the conference with a 0.00 ERA and seventh with 14 strikeouts on the weekend.

The Trojans outscored their opponents 23-1 at the 2018 Troy Classic, and rank first in the Sun Belt with a 0.37 team ERA.

Troy looks to remain perfect as it hosts No. 13 Auburn (6-0) at the Troy Softball Complex on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m.
