Troy, Ala. – Troy men's basketball continues its homestand on Sunday when it welcomes Central Arkansas to Trojan Arena for a 2 p.m. game as part of the Barclays Center Classic.

Troy is coming off a tough 81-66 loss against Southern Miss on Thursday night. The Trojans got off to a slow start in the first half, but junior Charles Norman caught fire in the second, scoring 13 of his 16 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the arc. Senior Alex Hicks added 13 points with eight rebounds.

This season, senior Jordon Varnado is averaging a double double in 14.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, which leads the Sun Belt. Senior Alex Hicks follows behind Varnado, putting up 13.0 points per game on 57.9 percent (22-of-38) shooting from the field. Senior BJ Miller leads the team in assists (3.7) and steals (1.3) per game.

Scouting Central Arkansas
Central Arkansas fell to Pitt, 97-71 on Thursday night in Peterson Events Center. In the game, UCA saw four players score double-digit points led by senior Thatch Unruh scoring 15 points and sophomore Jared Chatam adding 11. Sophomore Hayden Koval poured in 10 points with a team-high seven boards and three blocked shots.

Unruh leads the team averaging 12.5ppg with freshman Eddy Kayouloud following right behind with 12.0ppg. Koval paces the averaging 6.8rpg. Head coach Russ Pennell is in his fifth season with the Bears, holding a 35-91 record.

Series History
Sunday will mark the third-ever meeting between the two teams with the series is knotted at one apiece. Central Arkansas took the first meeting, 60-53 on Nov. 26, 2013. In the last meeting, Troy cruised to an 85-73 win over the Bears on Dec. 6, 2014 in Trojan Arena.

In the game, then-senior Kevin Thomas posted his second consecutive double double in a game-high 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting from field and a game-high 11 rebounds. Then-junior Oskar Reinfields posted a career-high 14 points.
