Troy's men enter the season under sixth-year head coach Phil Cunningham. The Trojans return two-time All-Sun Belt Conference performer Jordan Varnado, who led the squad with 18.0 points per game. Starters BJ Miller and Alex Hicks are also back and will join three letterwinners and eight newcomers. The Trojans host Fort Valley State (Nov. 6), Southern Mississippi (Nov. 15), Central Arkansas (Nov. 18), North Alabama (Nov. 24), Austin Peay (Nov. 29), Carver College (Dec. 12) and UAPB (Dec. 29) in non-conference play.
Â
The women's team led the Sun Belt Conference in scoring for the sixth straight season averaging 81.9 points per game. Under seventh-year head coach Chanda Rigby, the Trojans have finished in the top 10 nationally in scoring in each of the last three seasons and paced the country in rebounding last year as well. All-Sun Belt performers Kayla Robinson, Amber Rivers and Sky'Lynn Holmes return for the Trojans and are primed to make a run at the program's third Sun Belt title in four seasons. Troy hosts Samford (Nov. 12), Tennessee State (Nov. 16), Alabama State (Nov. 29), Middle Tennessee (Dec. 4), and Talladega (Dec. 12) in non-conference action.
Â
The teams will play just two conference doubleheaders in 2018-19, which means twice the number of dates to catch the Trojans in action. The men's and women's teams will each take on South Alabama in doubleheaders scheduled for Feb. 2 in Mobile and Feb. 23 in Trojan Arena.
Â
Faculty and staff discounts are available at all levels except General Admission, please contact the Troy Ticket Office for more information.
