Troy in the Mix Following Day One of Starmount Fall Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Nicole Lorup continued the impressive start to her collegiate campaign with a 1-over 145 in Monday's opening two rounds of the Starmount Fall Classic. Troy is tied for fourth in the 15-team field paced by Lorup's fourth-place individual standing.
A native of Smorum, Denmark, Lorup fired a 1-under 71 in the opening round thanks to an eagle on the par-5 fourth and a birdie on the par-3 10tharound a pair of bogeys. She followed with three birdies in the second round and finished at 2-over after adding in five bogeys.
Lindsey Harrison and Sarah Harrison each carded seven birdies to lead Troy in Monday's opening two rounds. Lindsey sits tied for 13thplace overall at 6-over while Sarah is tied for 27that 9-over; the duo both carded rounds of even par the second time through the course.
"It was like playing on two different courses today," head coach Randy Keck said. "A really heavy dew soaked the grass early in the morning and led to a brutally hard course. Once the sun dried things up in the afternoon the course was hard and fast."
Tennessee put together the best score in each of the opening two rounds and holds a 13-shot lead over UNC Greensboro. UAB is two shots back of UNCG in third with Troy and Appalachian State a shot back in fourth.
Bianca Lohbauer is tied with Sarah Harrison for 27thplace after carding a pair of birdies in the second round, while Jordan Susce is tied for 72ndplace at 22-over. Playing as individuals, Anna Clarie Little fired a second-round 75 to sit tied for 40thand Judith Castro is tied for 68thafter shooting 21-over.
Teams will face another shotgun start for Tuesday's final round with Troy paired up with App State and High Point beginning at 8 a.m. (CT).
