Troy Gears Up for App State

GAME NOTES

TROY, Alabama – Troy hosts Appalachian State on Monday at 5 p.m. in Trojan Arena looking to rebound after a disappointing loss on Saturday.

The Trojans (7-10, 2-4 Sun Belt) battled back from a 14-point deficit to take the lead against Coastal Carolina, but the Chanticleers outscored Troy 11-4 over the final five minutes to take the 97-92 victory.

Kayla Robinson scored 16 points in the second half to go along with six assists while Amber Rivers led the home team with 20 points. Sky'Lynn Holmes posted her third double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Troy has lost four straight entering Monday's game.

Appalachian State (5-13, 3-4) fell on the road at South Alabama, 54-52, on Saturday snapping a three-game win streak. Tierra Wilson is averaging 12.4 points per game to pace the Mountaineers offense while Bayley Plummer averages 9.1 points and 11.8 boards per game.

App State sits in eighth in the Sun Belt standings – half a game ahead of Troy – but have won just once in the all-time series.
