Troy To Make 2018 Home Debut Saturday Against Coastal Carolina

TROY, Alabama. – After the schedule being pushed back due to the snow that came to Troy, the Trojans will make the 2018 home debut against Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 4:15 in Trojan Arena.

Troy (8-10, 2-3) was set to take on Appalachian State on Thursday, but the weather delayed the opportunity to continue on the momentum the Trojans got from a 15-point victory at South Alabama over the weekend.

Now the focus turns to the Chanticleers (7-13, 1-6) as the Trojans look to return to .500 in Sun Belt play. The early slate of conference season has seen dominant efforts from Alex Hicks after the forward has set his career-high in rebounds twice in five conference games highlighted by a 30-point, 16 rebound effort at South Alabama.

His hot streak has given Troy two top-20 scorers in the conference as Hicks comes in at No. 18 with 12.2 points per game and Wesley Person's spot at No. 3 at 19.9 points per game. Hicks is also the fourth-leading rebounder at 8.5 boards per game.

Coastal Carolina is coming off a narrow 60-57 loss to South Alabama on Thursday. The Chanticleers won their Sun Belt opener 90-65 over preseason favorite UT Arlington but have since dropped six straight with the loss to the Jaguars being the only one-possession loss.
