Troy Blanks Coastal Carolina To Advance To Sun Belt Semifinals

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – The first round of postseason play kicked off for Troy men's tennis in dominating fashion as the Trojans rolled to a 4-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Championship.
Things went well for the start for Troy (14-10) as the team was able to break a 1-1 tie in doubles play with a 7-6 (7-5) victory by Andy Lau and Filip Mansson to earn the doubles point.
It didn't take long for the Trojans to earn the other three points as Troy won the bottom three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the shutout. Mustapha Belcora, Jaiqi Duan and Amer Bedwan clinched in the first two sets, rendering the other three singles sets unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY
• The three singles victors all won their first postseason singles matches as Trojans.
• Mustapha Belcora was the only player to win twice on the day as he paired with Pablo Moreno to win their doubles match 6-2.
