Troy Earns Sixth-Straight Win 5-2 Over Emory

TROY, Alabama – The win streak continued for Troy men's tennis as the Trojans rolled on to the team's six-straight win by defeating Emory 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (8-6) continued the climb in the win-loss column by taking five of six singles matches on the day. Of the five singles victories, the Trojans needed just two sets in four of five.
Mustapha Belcora was the most dominant player on the afternoon as he won his set over James Spaulding 6-1, 6-0. He was followed by Jaiqi Duan, who defeated Josh Goodman 6-3 in straight sets.
Other singles winners on the day were Hassan Ndayishimiye, Andy Lau and Pablo Moreno. Emory won the doubles matchup 2-1 to take the doubles point. Andre Baldo and Ndayishimiye won 6-4 over Scott Rubinstein and Spaulding.
NOTEWORTHY
• Emory (5-4) was crowned the D-III ITA Indoor National Champion on Feb. 26.
• The only singles loss was Amer Bedwan. The defeat snapped the freshman's 10-0 start to his career in dual play.
