Six-Match Winning Streak Ends As Troy Falls To Penn State

TAMPA, Florida – Troy men's tennis entered the South Florida Invitational riding a six-match winning streak, but that came to a close as Troy fell to Penn State 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
Despite the score, Troy put up valiant efforts across the board that could have gone either way. The Trojans (8-7) took the doubles point after Hassan Ndayishimiye and Filip Mansson won 6-4 while Andy Lau and Pablo Moreno took the point after Penn State (8-3) was forced to retire tied at five.
Mustapha Belcora and Jaiqi Duan were both in the third set of their singles matches, but neither were able to finish after Penn State took the first four points. Andy Lau made it three sets before falling 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 to Christian Lakoseljac while Amer Bedwan fell 6-4, 7-5 to Marc Collado.
NOTEWORTHY
• Mustpha Belcora is undefeated in his last seven matches as he has won five while two were unfinished.
• After starting his singles dual career 10-0 Amer Bedwan has fallen in his past two matches.
