BOCA RATON, Florida – The first day of competition in south Florida wasn't as sunny as Troy would hope as the Trojans fell 4-2 to FAU on Friday.

The only two victories, doubles or singles, on the day came from Mustapha Belcora and Austine Racine. Belcora earned a 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Anthony Schohn while Racine rallied for a 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 win.

The closest Troy got in doubles play to earning a victory was from a combination of freshman. The duo of Amer Bedwan and Christopher Tasker came close, but fell 5-4 to Arthur Stefani and Stefan Burnett.

NOTEWORTHY

• It was the first dual victory for Racine in his first attempt. He improved his record to 10-7 on the year.

• Pablo Moreno was forced to withdraw due to injury. He won the first set 6-3 but retired when it was 1-4 in the second.
