Troy-South Alabama Square Off in Rivalry Game

TROY, Alabama – Seven days since its last game, the Troy women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday against in-state rival South Alabama at 2 p.m.

The Trojans (14-6, 7-2) are looking to bounce back after a loss to Georgia State a week ago. In the game Caitlyn Ramirez tied a Troy single-game record with 20 rebounds, a record she set on Nov. 11 at Auburn to open the season. She also scored 18 points to mark her sixth straight double-digit performance. The team enters the game third in the Sun Belt Conference standings, a game behind UT Arlington (8-1) and two back of Little Rock (10-0) with nine games remaining.

South Alabama (7-13, 2-7) has dropped six consecutive games including a pair of low-scoring affairs against Georgia State (55-45) and Georgia Southern (53-45). Troy won the first matchup of the season, 73-57 on Dec. 31.
