Coastal Carolina Visits For Key Sun Belt Matchup

TROY, Alabama – Following two road wins against UL Lafayette and ULM, Troy is back at home with a contest against Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. The game will have a live video stream on TroyTrojans.com and a live radio call by Barry McKnight and Jerry Miller.

The Trojans (14-12, 6-6) won consecutive road conference games for the first time this season in the two victories in Louisiana. The 100 points against the Ragin' Cajuns marked the first time Troy has scored 100 or more in a conference game since Mar. 3, 2006 against Arkansas State.

The Trojans converted 40 free throws on 50 free throw attempts in that game, both of which were Troy Division I records. Jordon Varnado had a career-high 31 points and also set two Troy Division I records with 15 converted free throws on 18 attempts.

Kevin Baker was the hero against ULM as he hit a 3-pointer with three seconds remaining in overtime to give the Trojans the 73-72 win. Varnado was again the start as he recorded his ninth career double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Coastal Carolina (13-13, 8-5) sits one spot ahead of Troy in the Sun Belt standings. The Chanticleers have won four of the past five games and most recently defeated Georgia State 65-64.
