STATESBORO, Georgia – Off to the best start since 1996-97, the Troy women's basketball team wraps up a stretch of three straight road games to open the Sun Belt Conference schedule with a trip to Statesboro, Ga., to take on Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. (CT) on Saturday.

The Trojans (9-4, 2-0 SBC) knocked off Georgia State on Thursday, 87-69, behind strong showings from Caitlyn Ramirez (20 pts., 9 reb., 6 stl) and Jayla Chills (19 pts.). Troy is off to a 2-0 start in SBC play for the first time since 2001-02.

Georgia Southern (4-9, 0-2) has stumbled out of the game dropping its first two league contests including a 55-46 loss to South Alabama on Thursday. Troy has won eight consecutive games in the all-time series against the Eagles.
