Troy Falls to Winthrop 5-2

ROCK HILL, South Carolina – The Trojans completed their first of two South Carolina road matches on Saturday, falling to the Winthrop Eagles 5-2.
Troy (0-3) lost the opening doubles point as the Eagles won all three matches 6-4.
In singles competition, Efriliya Herlina won her match in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 to get the first point for the Trojans. Also winning a singles point for Troy was Alicia Rodriguez as she defeated Alya Mourad in three sets 4-6, 7-6 (4), 1-0.
The Trojans look to rebound as they travel to Greenville, S.C., on Sunday to take on Furman. The match is set for 10 a.m. CT.
