Troy Hosts Georgia State on Saturday

TROY, Alabama – Troy men's basketball will be back home in Trojan Arena with a contest against Georgia State on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. There will be a video stream on ESPN3 with the call by Ali Forbes and Barry McKnight and also a radio stream on TroyTrojans.com. with Doug Amos and Jerry Miller.

It will be a key game for Troy to remain in the hunt for a Sun Belt title after Monday's 78-69 win on the road against Little Rock that boosted the Trojans' conference record to 3-4 and 11-10 overall.

The win against Little Rock was a dominant performance from Troy's big men. Jordon Varnado led all scorers with 24 points on 8-17 shooting and 8-11 free throw shooting. He notched his eighth career double-double with 13 rebounds.

Alex Hicks picked up where Varnado left off by scoring a career-high 14 points on 6-7 shooting. The forward, who came off the bench, was close to a double-double as he had eight rebounds, as well.

This will be the second meeting this season between Georgia State and Troy. The Trojans handed the Panthers just their fifth home loss in the past four seasons in the 80-77 win in Atlanta, Ga. On Jan. 9.

That was the last conference loss for the Panthers as the past four games have all been wins. Georgia State most recently won 83-72 at home against Appalachian State.
