Troy Drops 4-2 Match At UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Troy men's tennis team struggled to get anything going in falling to UNCG 4-2 on Sunday morning.

Mustapha Belcora and Amer Bedwan recorded the only wins on the afternoon in singles play. Belcora won a narrow first set 7-5 before taking the match 6-2 in the second set over William Albright.

The freshman Bedwan had an easier go of things with a 6-2 win in straight sets to take his match over Jack Burkill. Filip Mansson was able to go three sets, but he eventually fell 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Troy was swept for the first time this season in doubles play. Pablo Moreno and Andy Lau were tied 6-6 in their match but were unable to finish the set.

NOTEWORTHY

• Amer Bedwan is now a perfect 4-0 in singles play to begin his dual match career. He is the only undefeated player on Troy's roster.

• It's been a rough start to the dual match season for the trio of seniors on the roster. Andy Lau, Pablo Moreno and Hassan Ndayishimiye are a combined 5-7 in singles play.
