JONESBORO, Arkansas – Conference season rolls on with Troy traveling to Jonesboro, Ark. this weekend for a matchup against Arkansas State on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will have a live video broadcast on ESPN3.com and a live radio stream on TroyTrojans.com by Barry McKnight and Russ Schaffer.
The Trojans (10-9, 2-3) are coming off the first home games in more than a month this past weekend. Troy earned a key 93-71 win against UT Arlington on Saturday. The Mavericks came into the game ranked No. 43 in the RPI rankings.
The high-scoring pace of the UT Arlington game did not carry over to Monday as Troy fell 75-71 in Trojan Arena to Texas State, which came into the game allowing the fewest points in the Sun Belt.
It was a historic weekend for Wesley Person in the win against UT Arlington. Person shattered his career-bests in multiple categories in scoring 39 points on 10 3-pointers and 13 field goals.
Arkansas State enters Saturday's game tied for the second-most wins in the conference with a record of 12-6. The Red Wolves started conference play with back-to-back wins over UL Lafeyette and ULM before falling on the road to Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. The last outing was a 77-72 win at Little Rock.
