Troy Battles Little Rock for SBC Lead

TROY, Alabama – The last time Troy and Little Rock faced off, the teams turned in an instant classic in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, a 61-60 win by Troy handing the program its first Sun Belt title and its second trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Now, for the first time since Ashley Beverly Kelley drilled a free throw line jumper and Caitlyn Ramirez sealed the victory with a block as time expired 10 months ago, Troy and Little Rock square off to lay claim to the top of the league standings. The quads tip off on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Jack Stephens Center.
Troy (12-4, 5-0 SBC) is riding a six-game winning streak and is coming off an impressive 85-68 win over RPI #49 UT Arlington. Ramirez was named Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday and is averaging 15 points and 10.5 rebounds in conference play.
Little Rock (11-6, 5-0) has won its last five contests and six of its last seven. The Trojans of Arkansas have never lost to Troy at Jack Stephens Center. Kaitlyn Pratt paces Little Rock with 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds, and while Little Rock is averaging just 57.1 points per game, the team has upped its output scoring 73.2 points per game in Sun Belt play.
