Texas State Comes To Town For Monday Matchup

TROY, Alabama – Troy enters the second home game of 2017 against Texas State on Monday at 7 p.m. The game will have a live video stream on ESPN3.com with the call by Barry McKnight and Ali Forbes. The radio call will be live by Doug Amos and Jerry Miller on TroyTrojans.com.
The game will feature a special promotion for all attendees. All who come out for the game will be able to get into the game for $1. That ticket will also include a voucher for a free drink and hot dog.

Monday's game comes on the heels of a 93-71 win Saturday against UT Arlington. The win gave Troy a win against an opponent ranked in the top-50 in RPI as UT Arlington came into the game ranked No 43.

It was a dominating night for Wesley Person as he eviscerated his previous career-bests in multiple categories. The guard scored 39 points fueled by 10 3-pointers. Person's previous career bests were 31 points and six 3-pointers. The junior also had a career-high 13 field goals on 13-of-19 shooting.

While Person stole the show, Jordon Varnado also put up big numbers in the win. Varnado was just three points shy of his career-high with 24 points against the Mavericks on 10-of-16 shooting from the field. He also added a team-high eight rebounds.

Texas State comes into Troy with a 9-7 record and 2-2 record in Sun Belt play. The Bobcats have been a solid 6-2 at home but just 1-5 on the road. Most recently, Texas State fell 72-67 in overtime at South Alabama.
