TROY, Alabama – With a convincing season-opening victory tucked away, the Troy football team hits the road this weekend to Death Valley for a matchup with No. 2 Clemson. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. (CDT) and the game will be televised live on the ACC Network.
The Trojans (1-0) defeated Austin Peay 57-17 in the opener behind 706 yards of total offense and a defense that held the Governors to just 37 yards in the second half. Troy's offensive total was the third most in school history, while the points scored were the third most in a season opener in school history.
There were plenty of stars to choose from on the offensive side of the ball as Brandon Silvers threw for 229 yards and two scores, while rushing for another, Jordan Chunn rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries and Ismail Saleem caught four passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Kris Weatherspoon led the Trojans with seven tackles and a tackle for loss, while Junior Gnonkonde had six stops and Kamryn Melton made a pair of tackles and intercepted a pass.
Clemson (1-0) traveled to Auburn on the opening Saturday of the season and left The Plains with a 19-13 victory. Clemson returns 14 starters, including Heisman Trophy candidate Deshaun Watson, from last year's team that advanced to the CFP National Championship Game against Alabama.

"Great challenge, great opportunity, however you want to look at it. It's one of the best atmospheres in college football and it should be fun."
