Troy Women’s Tennis Falls in Sun Belt Semifinal

NEW ORLEANS – The Troy women's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Saturday with a 4-0 loss to No. 46 Georgia State in the Sun Belt semifinals at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center.
Troy (12-9) played in its second semifinal in the last three years, but the tournament's No. 5 seed fell to the top-seeded Panthers (14-5) for the second time in the last two weeks.
The Panthers quickly grabbed the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 1 and a 6-2 win at No. 3. GSU then got straight set wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 3, respectively, to advance to Sunday's championship match.
