Troy Set for NCAA First Round and Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Oregon – The 15-seed Troy women's basketball team will make its second NCAA Championships appearance on Friday when it faces 2-seed Oregon State at Gill Coliseum.Â

The Trojans and Beavers will tipoff at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN2 with Clay Matvick and Sue Bird calling the game. The Brick on Highway 231 in Troy will host a watch party, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Trojans completed news conferences and a practice on the Gill Coliseum floor on Thursday. Audio from the press conference can be heard below.

Troy (20-12), the Sun Belt tournament championships, have won eight straight games entering Friday, including a historic run to the Sun Belt title. As the No. 4 seed, Troy became the lowest seed to win the Sun Belt Championships, beating the league's top two seeds along the way.

Oregon State (28-4) won the Pac-12 regular season and tournament championships and will be making its third straight NCAA Championships appearance. The Beavers also hosted the first and second rounds last season, beating South Dakota State before being upset by Gonzaga in the second round.
