TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's basketball team will host Armstrong State in Trojan Arena at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Admission to the game is FREE.

The Trojans (6-4) take on a non-conference opponent for the final time before opening Sun Belt Conference play at South Alabama on Saturday. Troy is coming off a 110-84 loss at Tennessee, but cut a 23-point deficit to just five in the second quarter.

Jayla Chills leads the team in scoring with 11.6 points per contest and recorded her first career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds against the Lady Vols. Claresa Banks was 5-for-11 from 3-point range in the game and finished with a team-high 19 points. Banks is 2nd in the Sun Belt and 25th in the NCAA shooting 89.3 percent from teh free throw line.

Armstrong State (5-6) is a member of the Peach Belt Conference at the NCAA Division II level. The Pirates matchup with Troy for just the second time in the schools' history. The Trojans took the last meeting, 81-55, a mere 34 years ago on Dec. 14, 1978 in the North Georgia Tournament hosted in Rome, Ga.
