Trojans Aim to Bounce Back at Nicholls State

TROY, Alabama – After falling for just the second time this season, the Troy women's basketball team looks to bounce back on the road against Nicholls State on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

The Trojans (5-2) dropped a 77-70 contest at Jacksonville on Saturday snapping a five-game win streak. The team was off to a 5-1 start for the first time since 1996-97.

Jayla Chills continues to lead Troy's offense averaging 12.1 points per game and has scored 15 or more points in three games this season. Claresa Banks is shooting 91.3 percent from the free throw line, which ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference and 23^rd in the NCAA. La'Tia Fils-Aime' leads the league shooting 60.5 percent from the field.

The Colonels (3-5) spit their last two contests defeating Grambling on Nov. 29 before falling to Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Cassidy Barrios has nearly single-handedly led her team so far in her sophomore campaign, pacing the Colonels in scoring (14.8 ppg.), rebounding (7.9), assists (2.9), total blocks (4) and field goal percentage (.442). Barrios has scored 20 or more points in three games this season, with two leading to double-doubles.
