Troy Faces Point In Dothan On Wednesday

TROY, Alabama – Troy men's basketball will play in Dothan, Ala. at the Dothan Civic Center for the third consecutive season with a matchup against Point University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will be called on Troy Sports Radio Network with Barry McKnight and Jerry Miller as the talent.
The Trojans (5-4) are coming off the second-biggest win of the season in an 88-59 rout of Alabama A&M on Saturday. The 88 points the Trojans put up was the second-highest amount on the season behind the 135 scored in the opener.
The win marked the third win in four games for Troy. Jordon Varnado set a career-high with 27 points to bring the Trojans above .500 for the best start in the Phil Cunningham era.
For the third-straight game, both Jeremy Hollimon and Juan Davis, Jr. have put up double-digit scoring games. Hollimon has 53 points in the past three games, which is just one point shy of the most he has scored in a three-game stretch.
Davis, Jr., in his first season with Troy, is averaging 8.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game. He scored 10 against South Florida, 11 against Alabama State and 12 against Alabama A&M.
Point University has struggled to get on a roll this season. The Skyhawks (2-10) started the season at 1-2 but have since gone 1-8. The most recent outing saw Point fall 90-78 at home against Allen University.
