Trojans Fail to Capitalize on Saturday

AUBURN, Ala. – Two Trojans advanced on the second day of the ITA/USTA Regional with Amer Bedwan and Hassan Ndayishimiye as the two Trojans who moved on for the day.

Bedwan continued his hot start to the season with three straight wins to start the tournament. On Saturday, he defeated Southern Miss 6-2, 6-1, Auburn 6-3, 6-3 and then advanced on an emergency over Jackson State to make it to the quarterfinal round.

Andy Lau and Mustapha Belcora were the Trojans closest to advancing to the final round after he fell in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, to LSU. Belcora fell 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 to Jackson State.

NOTEWORTHY
•  No Troy doubles pairing was able to advance on Saturday.

•  Pablo Moreno fell in two sets, 6-2, 6-3, to the number one seed from Ole Miss.

•  Mustapha Belcora and Bedwan notched a victory in doubles play to start the morning session.
