Troy Men End Louisiana Road Trip with ESPN3 Matchup Against UL Lafayette

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men wrap up its road trip in Lafayette, La., with a Sun Belt Conference matchup against UL Lafayette on Saturday at 6:30 in the Cajundome.

The men's game is the second of a doubleheader with the Troy and UL Lafayette women, which is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and Barry McKnight will have the radio call on the Troy Sports Radio Network.

Jeremy Hollimon scored a career-high 26 points and Daniel Peace dished out a career-best seven assists on Thursday night, but Troy (6-12, 1-6) surrendered a late first half run that was too much to overcome and ULM won 85-74.

Hollimon has made 27 of his last 74 3-point shots, which is 36.4 percent. The Gulfport, Miss., native has also scored in double figures eight of the last 13 games and nine of the last 15.

Peace leads the team in assists and is averaging 3.8 assists per game, which is fifth-best in the Sun Belt. He is also averaging 4.3 assists in conference only games.

Sophomore guard Wesley Person is averaging 16.8 points per game. Person is averaging 3.06 3-pointers per game, and has made a 3-pointer in 47 consecutive games.

UL Lafayette's Shawn Long is the only player in the Sun Belt averaging a double-double with 19.1 points per game, which ranks third in the Sun Belt and averaging 13.1 rebounds per game, which is tops in the league. The Ragin' Cajuns (8-8, 4-3) have won four straight games and are 6-0 at home this season.

UL Lafayette leads the all-time series over Troy 13-5, and picked up two wins against the Trojans last season including an 84-80 overtime win in Trojan Arena. The two schools are meeting for the first time this season.
