TROY, Alabama – UT Arlington used a 37-4 run over a nine-minute period in the first and second halves to pull away from Troy in a 90-63 Sun Belt Conference victory Thursday night at Trojan Arena.

Troy raced out to a 29-14 lead over the game's first 12 minutes thanks to 13 points from Jordon Varnado. However, the Trojans made just one of their next 14 shots from the floor, while the Mavericks (13-2, 4-0) connected on 10-of-16, including six from behind the arc, to take a 40-33 lead into the half.

Varnado finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, a pair of assists and a steal to lead Troy (5-11, 0-5), while Jeremy Hollimon added nine points and Jaro Moravek finished with six points and five rebounds. B.J. Miller came off the bench to score six points, dish out four assists and grab three steals.

UT Arlington stayed hot after the break as it hit 12 of its first 19 shots and finished the half shooting 57.1 percent (20-of-35) from the floor. The Mavs lived from behind the 3-point line as they hit 14-of-35 from beyond the arc in the game. Troy hit 10 3-pointers in the game led by three from Varnado and two each from Hollimon, Moravek and Wesley Person.
