Reid Long Named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American

TROY, Alabama – Troy freshman outfielder Reid Long was named Louisville Slugger All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Wednesday. A Trojan has been dubbed an All-American in five of the last six seasons.

A Marianna, Florida, native, Long batted .275 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs for the Trojans. He posted a .317 batting average and .529 slugging percentage in conference play. Long, who was the lone position player selected from the Sun Belt led the conference with six triples and paced all league freshmen in home runs. He was also seventh in the Sun Belt in slugging percentage.

Long becomes the 51st All-American selection in Troy history and follows Marc Skinner, who was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American last season.
