Four Trojans Earn All-Sun Belt Honors

TROY, Alabama – Troy designated hitter David Hall was named first team All-Sun Belt Conference while Grant Bennett, Lucas Brown and Logan Hill earned second team honors Tuesday night at the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Family Night at Riddle-Pace Field.

Hall, a senior from Fort Pierce, Fla., batted .341 with three home runs and 30 RBIs. He recorded 11 multi-hit and 11 multi-RBI games and entered the regular season finale with an 18-game hitting streak. Hall has recorded 37 multi-hit games and has a .500 slugging percentage in his career. It is the second time Hall has earned postseason honors as he was named second team all-conference last season. He was also named first team preseason All-Sun Belt.

Bennett was 9-3 on the season and was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week twice this season. He took a perfect game into the eighth inning against Georgia Southern and a no-hitter into the seventh against Southern Miss. Brown finished the regular season 6-2 and third in the league with a 2.34 ERA. He started the season as a reliever and pitched 12 scoreless innings over his first seven appearances. Brown pitched complete games against Appalachian State and Georgia State. The Acworth, Ga., native pitched at least seven innings in every start.

Hill finished the regular season in the top 10 in batting average, hits, RBIs, stolen bases, total bases, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. He put together a reached base streak of 21 games and recorded 20 multi-hit games including eight games with three hits.

Second-seeded Troy with open play in the Sun Belt tournament against No. 7 UT Arlington on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Riddle-Pace Field.
