Troy Baseball Hosts Arkansas State Looking to Claim Fourth Straight Sun Belt Series

TROY, Alabama – The Troy University baseball team hosts Arkansas State in a three-game, Sun Belt Conference series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. at Riddle-Pace Field. Live video, audio and stats will be available on TroyTrojans.com while WTBF 94.7 FM will carry the radio broadcast.
Entering the weekend, Troy has won three straight Sun Belt Conference series and stands seventh in the league standings. The Trojans (17-17, 6-6 SBC) are 26-9 all time against Arkansas State including an 8-4 mark at Riddle-Pace Field.
Offensively, Troy is lead by senior Trevin Hall, who is batting .370 on the season with three home runs and 15 RBIs. Hall collected two hits in Wednesday's loss to Kennesaw State; it was his 15th multi-hit game of the season.
Troy has been extremely aggressive on the bases lately, stealing 29 bases in the last 10 games. Clay Holcomb leads the Sun Belt with 18 stolen bases while Shaw Pinnell has swiped seven bags over the last eight contests.
Friday starter Grant Bennett (6-1, 2.09) leads the league with 51 strikeouts and has recorded o a quality start in seven of his eight outings. Lucas Brown (2-1, 1.72) is scheduled to get the start on Saturday while Austin Crook (3-0, 5.08) is slated to take mound on Sunday.
Arkansas State (13-17, 4-10) is one game out of the Sun Belt cellar after dropping two-of-three games to South Alabama over the weekend. The Red Wolves will start Tyler Zuber (3-3, 3.65) on Friday, Jon Glidewell (2-0, 3.14) on Saturday and David Owen (2-4, 2.53) on Sunday.
