Troy Indoor Track and Field Hits the Road for Sun Belt Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — The Troy women's indoor track and field team wraps up its season at the 2015 Sun Belt Indoor Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex on Monday and Tuesday.

The Trojans will be facing off against all 11 teams in Sun Belt, including ranked opponents by the USTFCCCA, No. 106 South Alabama, No. 107 Texas State, No. 115 Georgia State and No. 126 Arkansas State.

The women's heptathlon will kick off the meet at noon on Monday while the women's 4x400-meter relay will conclude the meet on Tuesday afternoon.

For the women's team, freshman Niata Alexander will be going into the women's 400-meter dash with the second-best posted time in the conference, 55.94 seconds, and seventh in the women's 200-meter dash, clocking in at 24.87 seconds.

Fellow sprinter Sydney Wright is currently ninth in the Sun Belt in the women's 200-meter dash and 11^th in the women's 60-meter dash.

Troy's women's 4x400-meter relay team is currently seventh in the conference.
