Â
Troy (13-15, 6-8) now has to quickly recover as Mississippi State visits Trojan Arena on Monday at 6 p.m. That match will be the final of four matches in a six-day span for the Trojans.
Â
On Saturday at Texas State, Sara Landis led the way for the Trojans with 11 kills on just 16 attempts for a .562 attack percentage. She led a Troy team that hit .187 on the night while Texas State (14-11, 9-3) hit .255.
Â
The first set was close early, but with Texas State leading, 15-14, the Bobcats scored five straight points to take control on their way to a 25-18 win.
Â
The second set was the closest of the night with 16 ties, including as late as 22-22. Troy hit a match-best .278 in the frame, but with a 22-21 lead saw Texas State call timeout and scored four straight points out of the break to win 25-22.
Â
The Trojans hit .250 in the third set, but fell behind early, 11-5, then later 17-10 in a set that Texas State won 25-19.
Â
