Newcomers Shine in Exhibition Against Ontario Blue Jays

TROY, Alabama – Three of Troy baseball's newcomers tallied 10 hits, and drove in 10 runs against the Ontario Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon at Riddle-Pace Field.

Freshman infielder Brandon Lockridge had four hits, including a double and a triple, drove in three runs and scored three times, while junior Trevor Davis had four RBIs on two hits and scored two runs on the day. Joey Denison had four hits, three of them being doubles, and drove in three runs.

Corey Childress struck our five and only allowed two runs on four hits. 2014 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, Marc Skinner tossed two perfect innings and only allowed one hit, while fanning three. Lucas Brown and Reid Long each had two strikeouts and only allowed two hits.

Sophomore Matt Sanders was a home run shy of the cycle as he had three hits and four RBIs. Brody Binder, another sophomore, had three hits, including a home run and two RBIs on the day.

Long, a 2015 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, also swung the bat and had three hits and two RBIs on the day
