Troy Women's Golf Heads to Chris Banister Golf Classic

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's golf team heads to the Silver Lakes Golf Course in Glencoe, Ala., for the Chris Banister Golf Classic hosted by Jacksonville State. The three-day event opens Sunday on the par 72, 5,943-yard course.

The Trojans finished ninth in their season-opening event at the "Mo"morial hosted by Texas A&M against a field that featured several ranked teams. Sophomore Fátima Fernández Cano and senior Taylor McGraw turned in top-25 individual performances to lead the Trojans. McGraw had the best round of the tournament for the Trojans with a 2-under in the final round.

The field of the Chris Banister Golf Classic includes Jacksonville State, UAB, Belmont, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Samford, Austin Peay, Alabama State, Lipscomb and South Alabama.

The tournament opens Sunday at 7:30 p.m. off the first tee.
