Troy Set to Open SBC Championships Against Arkansas State Wednesday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy baseball team will enter the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championships as the sixth seed and will face third-seeded Arkansas State at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Stanky Field in Mobile, Ala.

Troy finished the regular season 24-30 and 11-18 in conference play. Arkansas State is 30-25 overall and 18-12 in league play and took two out of three games from the Trojans in Jonesboro two weeks ago.

The Trojans are 15-12 all-time in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and looks to claim its first tournament title since 2006.

The 2014 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship will be conducted over five days utilizing a double-elimination format to determine the Sun Belt Conference champion and recipient of the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Eight teams with the best winning percentage at the end of the conference regular-season will participate in the conference championship tournament.
