Trojans Looking to Secure Postseason Berth, Host UT Arlington

TROY, Ala. – With a potential postseason berth on the line, Troy men's basketball hosts UT Arlington on Thursday night at 7 p.m. inside Trojan Arena.

Troy (10-18, 5-11 SBC) currently sits in eighth in the Sun Belt standings with just two games to play. The Trojans can still reach seventh, as they currently sit one game behind ULM.

The Trojans have a chance to clinch a postseason berth on Thursday. A win over the Mavericks, paired with a Texas State loss at South Alabama, would lock up at least the eighth seed for the Trojans.

Troy is led by Hunter Williams this season at 13.4 points per game. Williams was Troy's top performer last Saturday at ULM, scoring a game-high 24 points while shooting 6-of-10 from beyond the arc.

UT Arlington (13-15, 8-8 SBC) took down Western Kentucky last Saturday, 80-73, to move into sixth in the Sun Belt standings. The Mavericks are led by Reger Dowell at 20.6 points per game this season.

Troy lost a close one at UT Arlington earlier this season, 59-56. The Trojans tied the game up at 56 on a deep 3-pointer by Williams with 14 seconds to play, but Dowell hit a closely contested 3-ball to steal the win with under five seconds to play.

The Trojans will close out the regular season against Texas State at 7:45 on Saturday night. Troy will also be celebrating senior night against the Bobcats.
