Troy Continues Road Slate at Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi – The Troy men's basketball team continues its road stretch as it travels to face Southern Miss on Tuesday, November 25, at Reed Green Coliseum. The Trojans and Golden Eagles are slated to tip off at 7 p.m.

The Trojans (1-2) are coming off two-straight losses to SEC opponents Ole Miss and Georgia. In both contests, Troy was led by freshman Wesley Person, who accounted for 25 and 20 points, respectively. In Athens, Person shot 50 percent (3-for-6) from 3-point range and sank 7-of-9 free throw attempts; he opened his collegiate career with 18 straight makes from the line before his fist miss.
Troy currently leads the Sun Belt in its defense beyond the arc. In its first three games, the Trojans have held their opponents to 19.2 percent shooting (10-of-52) from the 3-point range.
The Golden Eagles (2-1) hold a 35 home, non-conference win streak. Southern Miss is coming off of its first loss of the season to SEC opponent Alabama. The Golden Eagles won their first two games of the season against William Carey, 86-63, and Sun Belt opponent South Alabama, 68-59.
Troy trails the all-time series between the two teams, 0-10. Prior to this season's meeting, the two sides haven't met since 2002-03.
