Troy Travels to Georgia For First Road Trip

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's basketball squad hits the road as they travel to Athens, Ga., to take on its second straight SEC opponent, Georgia, on Friday, November 21, at Stegeman Coliseum. Tip off between the Bulldogs and the Trojans is set for 6 p.m. CST.

The Trojans (1-1) are coming off of a 74-64 loss to Ole Miss at home on Monday night. In it's second game of the season, Troy was led by freshman Wesley Person as he poured in 25 points, 20 of which came in the second half. Senior Kevin Thomas led all on the glass, as he reeled in a Troy Division I record 10 offensive boards, and 14 rebounds overall. In Troy's season opener, six different Trojans scored in double-figures as they defeated Brewton-Parker, 85-71. Musa Abdul-Aleem led all scorers with 16 points.

Georgia (1-1) split its first two games of the season. For its season opener, Georgia traveled to face Georgia Tech. Despite shooting 56 percent from the field in the second half, the Bulldogs were unable to fight their way back after trailing most of the game. The Jackets held off the Bulldogs as they defeated them, 80-73. Georgia then welcomed Stony Brook to Stegeman Coliseum for its home opener. The Bulldogs escaped with an 80-70 win.

Georgia leads the series over Troy, 4-0. The last matchup between the two schools was on December 1, 1980, when the Bulldogs defeated the Trojans 108-65.
