Troy Loses at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Troy fell at Kansas State, 72-43, on Sunday night at Bramlage Coliseum. The Trojans (4-4) struggled early while the Wildcats (7-3) were dominant on the glass.
"Our first shot defense in the zone was pretty good," said head coach Phil Cunningham. "We forced misses, we just couldn't go get the rebound. We just didn't do a good job of rebounding."
Troy was outrebounded on the night 44-27, with Kansas State grabbing 17 offensive boards.
The Trojans got down early, trailing 37-15 at the half, and could not recover. As a team, Troy shot 36.2 percent (17-of-47) from the field and 15.8 percent (3-of-19) from beyond the arc.
Antoine Myers led the team in scoring for the fourth consecutive game, finishing with12 points. Wes Hinton also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points and adding six rebounds.
Next up for the Trojans is the Basketball Travelers Classic, hosted by Utah State. Troy will take on UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. to kick off the Classic.
