Trojans Fall to No.24 WKU in Sun Belt Opener

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Troy volleyball team opened Sun Belt play on Friday night, falling to No.24 WKU in straight sets, 3-0 (11-25, 20-25, 12-25). The Trojans now travel to Middle Tennessee for a match against the Blue Raiders on Saturday night.
Troy (9-7) was led by Breanna Cullity on the day as she connected on 12 kills while Devin Von Pingel posted seven. Alexandra Alexander posted 24 assists while Courtney Cohen led the way with 10 digs.
The Trojans posted 28 kills in the match while the Lady Toppers picked up 37 with just eight errors for a .358 team attack percentage.
WKU (15-3) was led by Sun Belt Preseason Player Jordyn Skinner who recorded 10 kills and hit .375. Sun Belt Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Ashley Potts recorded a match-high 12 kills.
The Trojans will look to bounce back on Saturday night at Memorial Alumni Gym as they take on Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
