Trojans Fall to FIU in Four Sets

MIAMI, Fla. – The Troy volleyball team dropped a tough four-set match at FIU on Friday night, 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 14-25, 25-21). The Trojans close their season on Saturday at Florida Atlantic as they look to secure the second seed in next week's Sun Belt Championships.
Troy (19-11, 9-5) was led on the night by Kayla Pickart who posted 14 kills and hit .281. Devin Von Pingel recorded nine kills and just three errors to hit .286. Alexandra Alexander had a double-double with 37 assists and 15 digs. Courtney Cohen also had 15 digs to lead the Trojans.
FIU (9-18, 6-8) was led by Kimberly Smith who posted 17 kills while Marija Prsa had 13. FIU posted 14 total blocks on the night while Troy had just six.
The Trojans still sit in second place in the Sun Belt, but may be tied by nights end with multiple teams from the West Division.
The Sun Belt Championship seeding picture will become clear after tomorrow's games as the Trojans look to secure their highest seed in program history.
