Trojans' Streak Comes to an End

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Troy University volleyball team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end on the road Friday night as UALR defeated Troy in straight sets.
Troy returns to action on Saturday as they continue their Sun Belt road swing at Arkansas State. The Trojans and Red Wolves are set for a 7:00 p.m. first serve.

UALR 3, TROY 0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-12)
Troy (12-5, 2-1) was their own worst enemy on the night as they hit -.011 as a team, spiking down just 23 kills but 24 errors. In comparison, UALR (6-12, 1-3) swung at a .240 clip with 38 kills and just 14 errors.
Devin Von Pingel led Troy with eight kills to just one error for a .333 attack percentage, however, no other Trojan had more than four kills while three different Trojans had five or more attack errors.
Courtney Cohen and Alexandra Alexander each had 10 digs while Alexander recorded 21 assists. UALR out-blocked Troy 10.0 to 1.0 on the night.
Troy seemed in it in the first set, trailing just 12-9, however, they only managed four more points as UALR went to take the first set 25-13. Troy couldn't pick up any momentum as they managed just one tie in the second set at 3-3 before falling, 25-19. Troy trailed the entire set in a 25-12 loss in the final set.
